I hope all is well and that your holidays have been most merry.
As 2022 approaches, I wanted to take the time to thank you for your continued support of this blog. It’s hard to believe I’ve been writing in this space for almost three years now.
This blog has been one of the few constants in my life, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. With so much uncertainty, leaning into music and this space has proven extremely therapeutic and has helped me keep my sanity. I love music, writing, and writing about music so much that I don’t even want to imagine a world where those things don’t exist. I can’t.
Like 2020, the year 2021 has been filled with many highs and lows as well as many moments of growth, and of course, many music-filled moments. I’ve already shared some of those in this post, but I want to reflect on a few additional ones as well.
One of my favorite musical releases from this year was Carly Pearce‘s 29 EP, which later became her third full-length studio album, 29: Written In Stone. While I didn’t review the full album, I did write about the EP, and I think it’s one of my best pieces on this blog to date.
In addition, I recounted what happened when I let the pudding.cool AI tool rate my Spotify account and what I learned from the experience. While I take writing for this blog very seriously, I can also laugh at myself. (Humor, I’ve found, is another great coping mechanism to get through life’s harder moments).
Finally, and this is my favorite moment from 2021, I interviewed my good friend, Brenna about Taylor Swift‘s re-recording of her RED album, which dropped in November. Brenna and I are both big TSwift fans and Brenna has also been incredibly supportive of this blog since I started it, so getting to hear her thoughts on the album and then sharing it with you, dear reader, was an absolute pleasure. The experience made me realize something as well…
In 2022, I’d love to bring more voices to this blog in whatever way is most organic. I want to keep reviewing albums and giving my take on the latest music news and I’m hoping to finally score some artist interviews. (If you’re an artist who’d enjoy discussing your music with me, please feel free to reach out to me here).
And, of course, I want to keep refining my voice, challenging myself, and surprising you with what content I’m working on.
I don’t want to give everything away, dear reader, so I hope you’ll hang around, wait, watch, and read when the time finally comes. ; )
In the meantime, I can’t thank you enough for everything over the last few years. I am truly grateful each time I receive a new follow, like, or comment.
May 2022 be a year full of light, happiness, and good health for you and yours from me and mine.
Until next time, happy reading!
