Kelsea Ballerini shared an emotional video to her TikTok account Sunday (Sept. 4) amid her divorce from Morgan Evans.

Ballerini can be seen sitting in a bathtub wearing nothing but earrings, a gold heart necklace, and smudged mascara. In the video, “THE LITTLE THINGS” singer lip syncs to Katie Gregson-MacLeod’s song, “Complex.”

But I’m wearing his boxers / I’m being a good wife / We won’t be together / But maybe the next life / I need him like watеr / He lives on a landslide / I cry in his bathroom / Hе turns off the big light / I’m being a cool girl / I’m keeping it so tight / I carry him home while / My friends have a good night,” goes the snippet of the song featured in the video.

The video, which Ballerini captioned “a complex time,” is a stark contrast from earlier posts she shared to both her TikTok and Instagram accounts where she told fans she was “doin’ alright” using lyrics from her newly released song, “WHAT I HAVE.”

A ‘Deeply Difficult Decision’

Ballerini announced her split from Evans exactly a week ago, sharing a statement to her Instagram story. In her statement, Ballerini called the decision to divorce Evans as “deeply difficult.”

Friends, I’ve always tried my best to share my life with you in a real and vulnerable way, while also protecting layers of my personal life as they unfold,” she wrote. “This is now public record so I wanted you to hear from me directly that I am going through a divorce.”

This deeply difficult decision is the result of a journey of love, growth, and effort that has ultimately come to an end.”

It’s hard to find the words here…but I feel extremely grateful for the years of marriage to Morgan and hopeful for the next seasons.”

With very active schedules coming up, please be mindful that we are both fragile, actively healing, and showing up the best we can. Kels,” she added.

Later, Evans confirmed the split in his own statement, writing, “I am very sad to confirm that after almost 5 years of marriage, Kelsea and I are parting ways. I wish it were otherwise but sadly it is not.”

Did Ballerini Allude To She And Evans’ Split?

Back in May, Ballerini posted a video to her TikTok account sharing that she was doing an “all-day intensive” with her therapist. Ballerini, who has been very open about going to therapy in the past, described the process of the intensive as “not sexy” and mentioned that the session was all about “working through trauma, discovering boundaries, and discovering people who maybe shouldn’t be in your life anymore.”

In the video, Ballerini is not wearing her wedding ring, which may have signaled that she and Evans were on the verge of a breakup at the time.

‘They Gave It Their Best Go’

In an article from People announcing Ballerini and Evans’ divorce, a source who claimed to be close the couple said they “gave it their best go.”

“They’ve been working on their marriage for a very long time. Prior to this they had separated privately once before and have been in therapy for several years,” the source allegedly told the outlet. “They gave it their best go but unfortunately arrived at the decision to formally separate.”

Ballerini and Evans met while co-hosting Australia’s Country Music Channel Awards in 2016. Evans proposed nine months later on Christmas Day and the pair married in December 2017 during a beach ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

While neither of the singers shared a reason for their split publicly, Ballerini cited “irreconcilable differences” on the divorce filing, WKRN reported.
